Gnr. Thomas George Bolton Lands in France, 2nd July 1916

Former miner, Peveril Street resident, Gnr. Thomas George Bolton, ‘C’ Battery, 223rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, landed in France on 2nd July 1916.

Before the month was out, he had been admonished for neglect of duty (10th July) and reprimanded having “failed to comply with an order by an NCO” (27th July).

Bolton was discharged from the army on 13th July 1918, having been severely wounded by a gas shell on 12th March 1918.
