26 year-old former miner, Rfn. Joseph Morecroft, 7th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, was killed in action on 4th July 1915. He is buried in Bedford House Cemetery, Zillebeke, Belgium.
He was the first Hucknall man to die with a Kitchener battalion.
