“PLEA FOR THE MUNITION WORKER.

“I would like to know how it is that the munition girls are not asked to join in the procession with the lads on Saturday [19th July 1919]. I am sure they have done their utmost to win this war, besides being in danger of their lives. To me they do not seem to be much appreciated for their good work. Where England been to-day without the shells? Who played the chief part in the munition works? Why the women, of course. Let all who have done their bit be praised. — C. B.”

'Nottingham Evening Post', 18th July 1919.
