“VOLUNTEERS AND THEIR UNIFORM.
“SIR JOHN REES’S QUESTION.
“Sir J. D. Rees asked the Under-Secretary for War in the House to-day [30th June 1915] whether the War Office would consider the propriety of treating the uniform of the affiliated volunteer in the same manner as that of the territorial and regular soldier, viz., making it illegal for any person to wear such uniform unless duly authorised, and whether he would cause inquiries to be made into the feeling of affiliated volunteers regarding the wearing of the brassard.
“Mr. Tennant said no uniform had been authorised by the War Office for volunteer training corps, and the action suggested in the first part of the question was, therefore, not possible. He could not undertake to make the inquiries suggested in the second part of the question.”
