Pte. Herbert Prior, Robin Hood Rifles

Pte. Herbert Prior, 1/7th (Robin Hood Rifles) Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, was killed in action 8th June 1915. He is buried in Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery.

News of his death was reported by his family in a notice published on 30th June 1915.

“PRIOR. – Killed in action, June 8th, Private Herbert Prior, 1/7th Sherwood Foresters (Robin Hoods), aged 18 years, the beloved son of Frederick and Emma Prior, 21, Clarence-street, Nottingham. He did his duty.” [1]
